Sophie is finishing her Bachelor of Arts at McGill University, where she double-majors in International Development Studies and Political Science with a minor in Economics. Sophie has worked with ILEPA in Narok County, Kenya, where she focused on Indigenous rights to self-determination as a means of promoting environmental conservation and food security. Through ILEPA, she and her team partnered with organizations to contribute to the UN Food Systems Summit 2021. Sophie is also a writer and editor for academic and local journals, which has allowed her to follow international stories regarding human rights violations, environmental justice, and politics. Sophie is CHRE’s Climate Change Researcher contributing to various projects including the promotion of youth engagement on climate action.
